Headlines are not the best place to find insight into the trends in a metal like copper. Daily fluctuations are nearly meaningless but do provide copy for the newspapers.
Look to the chart and see the trend for the last year. This Blog will treat copper as a reliable leading economic indicator and will provide more comments on the metal over the next year. We will see if the assumption of its predictive value turns out to be true this time around. Why and why not.
