In producing a balanced coverage of copper news for the day we are left with two opinions cancelling themselves. Early on we noted that news wires do not give the kind of analysis that produces strong opinions one way or another. They take a survey and report what is being said by traders and economists on a particular day. It is up to the reader to interpret the stories and dig for more meaningful information using resources on the Internet and so on.
Reading that one analyst says slowing production implies that demand and supply are balanced and there is only enough inventory for two weeks is overshadowed by another analyst stating that inventories have risen 25% in two months and declining purchases by China ______seemingly contradictory and inconclusive information when examined together.
Maybe copper's price action is hinting the recovery is unlikely to be robust and we should expect a slow return economic activity sufficient to reduce unemployment and create growth in the American economy.
Not forgetting that copper has nearly doubled in price since the worst of the recent fiancial calamity - Meltdown.

Buyer Beware
October. This is one of the peculiarly dangerous months to speculate in stocks. Other dangerous months are July, January, September, April, November, May, March, June, December, August and February.
